Allied Reliability is seeking a diverse industrial rotating equipment mechanic for a client providing quality products and services in mechanical seal and rotating equipment solutions that reduce total cost and improve efficiencies for their customers. Their collective focus is extending Mechanical Reliability through Engineered Products and Services.
Job Description:
Measure critical fits on equipment with micrometers inside /out for Q.C. and work off bearing charts for proper fit checks.

The mechanic must have extensive knowledge primarily surrounding the repair of pumps and gear boxes along with associated equipment such as dispersers, lump breaking equipment, augers, blenders, mixers, positive displacement pumps, fans, blowers, and vacuum, Etc.
Knowledge of using dial indicators.
Knowledge of micrometers and depth mics.
Knowledge of dynamic balancing or the desire to learn. Training available in-house.
Knowledge of reading I.O.M manuals with comprehension
Knowledge of ball bearing removal via pullers, strong backs and hydraulic press.
Knowledge of heating and dropping bearings and or press set ups.
Knowledge of Mechanical seal installation.
Knowledge of pump operations (how they work)
The individual must be professional in both appearance and workmanship.
The individual must be comfortable fractions / decimals.
Machine shop skills are a plus.
Light machine work would be the ability to polish out shafts, spacers, lip seal fits, inspect keyways and dress, bevel rough edges of parts and other components found on rotating equipment.
Milling /Drilling
Experience in drilling and taping threaded holes in Stainless steel and other materials.
Frozen bolt and stud removal via heat, drill and extract with Easy outs, weld extraction.
Seized bolts /studs - knowledge of drilling out old studs and tap back to size.
Knowledge of installing Helicoils or thread inserts for thread repair.
Acetelene torch
Knowledge of burning tips, cutting tips, etc.
Proper gauge settings
Lighting procedures
Safety
Mechanical positions within the company are diverse in the fact that interaction with our management / sales force and end users are common.
Visits from end users are not uncommon on large critical jobs.
The ability of communication with a high degree of mechanical knowledge is important on the work performed.
Reliability engineers, Mechanical engineers, System Owners / Mechanics from customer sites do visit during certain jobs. The individual will need to be confident and well versed on the job in question during these visits.
