Allied Reliability is seeking talented individuals for an I&E Technician opportunity with an industry leading manufacturer in Middletown, OH. The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician responsibilities include maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of field instrumentation devices for process equipment and automated control systems. This position also requires assisting maintenance technicians. The I&E tech will operate within the maintenance function and interact with operations and EHS through Safe Work Permit, and LOTO.

  • Technical Resource
    • Support daily production operations
      • Review and assess daily system status
      • Troubleshoot, and correct flow, pressure, temp, level and analytical instruments
      • Installation, calibration, inspection, and troubleshooting of instruments and electrical equipment, in accordance with NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, ISA and Company Standards.
      • Identify, interpret and effectively use drawings and documentation related to electrical and process controls including Electrical One-line diagrams, Elementary diagrams, wiring schematics, control schematics, P&ID’s, Cause and Effect diagrams, Instrument Loop diagrams, Interconnect diagrams, etc.
      • Run instrument tubing, install solenoids and valves.
    • Support electrical work maintenance
      • Troubleshoot, repair motor control circuits and equipment including VFD’s,
      •  Maintain AB/MCC distribution systems.
      • Ability to run conduit and wiring using benders and pipe threaders.
    • Evaluate equipment reliability
      • Review current gaging system components in each application
      • Review repair records to determine MTBF and prioritize replacements
  • Maintenance Team Member
    • First level responder to equipment troubleshooting, diagnosis, & repair
    • Work with other maintenance team members to repair mechanical equipment.
    • Build documentation for troubleshooting and calibrations.
  • Middletown Team Member
    • Support continuous improvement in production & EHS performance.
    • Initiate LOTO, SWP’s and follow all requirements and procedures to ensure equipment and personnel including contractors are safe.
    • Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Responsible Care Management System® including establishment of policies/procedures, assigning responsibilities and tracking progress.







  • A.A. Degree in Instrumentation Electronics or Certification from trade schools and ISA CCST (Relevant work experience in the process instrumentation and electrical trades, preferably in process plant environments. could be considered in lieu of the degree requirements).
  • Experience in electrical work including CL1 Div2 environments.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams as both a leader and member. Ability to lead contractors and ensure their safety.
  • Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve process improvements.
  • Team player with good relationships with peers, subordinates, and superiors.
  • Ability to reach all work areas in the plant (i.e. climb ladders, negotiate catwalks, handle heights to 50 feet, etc.), to lift twist and turn up to 50 lb. (i.e. open and close large valves, inspect equipment, don emergency PPE, etc.) and to expeditiously lead plant emergencies.
  • Competency in process design and optimization.
  • Due to safety sensitive nature of job, must pass regular & routine chemical dependency testing.


  • Experience with electrical utility systems and troubleshooting
  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining DeltaV controls.
  • Knowledgeable in commissioning advanced Coriolis flow meters and radar level instruments. 
  • Process Control programming skills a plus.
  • Knowledge in NEC Codes and requirements especially for Cl1 Div2 environments.
  • Good personal computer skills preferably experience with MS Office.
