Overview

Allied Reliability is looking for a Pressure Equipment Engineering Manager to work with one of our top clients in the chemical industry. The Pressure Equipment Engineering Manager provides leadership over plant fixed equipment mechanical integrity systems, strategies, and policies while ensuring alignment with plant and corporate goals.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Assure that fixed equipment mechanical integrity programs are up-to-date and consistent with applicable codes and industry standards.
  • Assure that fixed equipment designs, repairs, and alterations are safe and consistent with codes and industry standards.
  • Serve as a technical resource for fixed equipment and relief systems to capital projects, operations, and maintenance.
  • Supervise API-certified fixed equipment inspectors.  This role includes performance and goals management and skills development.
  • Serve as an authority on codes and standards related to fixed equipment and relief systems.
  • Maintain company internal fixed equipment and relief system policies, procedures, and specifications.
  • Act as a technical contact for third-party engineering support engaged in fixed equipment and relief issues.

Qualifications

 

Required Skills

  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in fixed equipment mechanical integrity
  • Working Knowledge of the following codes and standards:
  • Inspection:  NBIC, API 510, API 570, API 576, API 653.
  • Fabrication:  ASME BPVC, ASME B31, API 620, API 650.
  • Equipment protection:  API 520, API 521, API 2000.
  • Supporting Standards:  API 571, API 579, API 580, API 581, API 583, ASME PCC-1, ASME PCC-2.
  • PSM Regulation OSHA 1910.119
  • Knowledge and capability to use advanced systematic and creative problem solving tools.
  • Supervisory training and project management.
  • Experience with software systems including SAP and GE APM™ (specifically Inspection Manager, Thickness Manager, and the RBI module) is preferred
  • Professional Engineering License or API Certifications is preferred
  • 10 Years’ Experience in Petrochemical Plant specializing in work related to fixed equipment and relief systems is preferred

Education, Certifications & Licenses

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Field (e.g., Metallurgical, Materials Science).
