The Reliability Manager will be responsible for formulating and executing the long-term strategic maintenance agenda, providing leadership and support to individual unit maintenance teams in improving the performance of their processes, ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of common maintenance systems, shared plant infrastructure and ultimately, for reducing the plant’s overall maintenance spending.


  • Leading the Reliability Excellence program, including maintaining the site maintenance work processes.
  • Creating and executing the long term strategic maintenance agenda based on criticality assessment.
  • Collaborating with operations leadership to define strategic objectives that reduce overall plant maintenance spending.
  • Analyzing relevant Key Performance Indicators to drive improved execution of predictive maintenance routines and support identification, prioritization, and resolution of equipment reliability opportunities.
  • Providing functional leadership to the unit maintenance teams.
  • Facilitating skill development within the site’s maintenance teams.
  • Maintain authorized mechanical contractor list for the facility.  Provide ongoing oversight of procurement and safety related items as needed to maintain the roster.
  • Overseeing the activities of Reliability Engineer and Lead in their leadership of the plant’s predictive maintenance programs and in their support of unit reliability objectives.
  • Formulating strategies through collaboration with unit maintenance teams to address equipment and infrastructure reliability challenges, including but not limited to use of vibration, lubrication, oil monitoring, thermography, acoustic, and other predictive technologies.  Provide ongoing strategic oversight for the program.
  • Making recommendations for improving maintenance programs, including the consideration of financial implications. Systematically optimize preventive maintenance plans to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Own the facility’s storeroom while striving to improve critical spare part inventory, service levels and adherence to mechanical stores budgets
  • Facilitating sharing and implementation of maintenance best practices throughout the plant.


  • 10+ years progressive experience in a maintenance, operations, and/or technical leadership (7-10 years with technical degree).
  • Knowledge of SAP or other CMMS system as it pertains to maintenance and operations.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma. Green Belt certification a plus.
  • Proficiency in setting priorities and executing multiple assignments in a timely manner.
  • Capacity to solve problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) a plus.
  • Demonstrated skill in use of data for decision making and corrective action.
