The Boiler Operator is responsible for the efficient, safe, and reliable operation and repair/modification of the Steam, Compressed Air, Soft / Hot / Chilled Water, Liquid Ammonia, and Fire Detection systems, while on watch. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the complete maintenance of 1 or more of these systems (Steam/Feed, Soft Water, Compressed Air…), which will require both hands-on work as well as administrative tasks, such as ordering parts, planning/scheduling work and coordinating with other internal work teams. They must be multi-crafted (mechanical/electrical) and able to multi-task between on-shift operational responsibilities and administrative tasks.
Their work includes preventive and predictive maintenance, planned work orders, scheduling and resource management, continuous improvement, system documentation, project activities and training. They must systematically repair, adjust and maintain boilers, compressors, pumps and related equipment as assigned using established maintenance reliability practices, consistent observation, repair, and follow-up of operational effectiveness
