The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing plant equipment, complete required Predictive Maintenance activities on a routine schedule and always strive to prevent unplanned breakdowns.
Follow and adhere to all safety rules, training and best practices at all times.
Demonstrate complete technical understanding and ability to maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, electrical controls, instrumentation, pneumatic, lubrication and PLC systems and components.
Ensure all paperwork and digital information is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format and completed with all required information.
Attend and practice all required training.
Perform predictive maintenance techniques on equipment to enhance uptime conditions.
Teach operators on maintenance techniques when called to troubleshoot or repair equipment. Completes preventative maintenance and other reliability tasks, assist in diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds of machines; partner with engineering or others on non-routine repairs and defect handling solutions.
Utilize root cause analysis thought process to ensure sustainability of corrective actions and/or improvements to drive asset reliability.
Effectively complete PM’s as scheduled to eliminate unplanned downtime.
Proficient and diligent in use of CMMS system to track maintenance action items, create and close work orders.
Classify breakdowns and analyze gaps in the entire process of design, fabrication, and maintenance of equipment.
Utilize the continuous improvement mindset and tools to actively participate in identifying and correcting opportunities, improving processes including participation in the creation and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, the creation and maintenance of preventative maintenance standards, the writing of One Point Lessons, and participation in continuous improvement methodology events.
Follow QMS, Good Manufacturing Practices and 5S methodology to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area, maintaining audit ready status at all times.
Adhere to all Pillar Standards and actively participate in Pillar activities (i.e. Quality, Focused Improvement, Safety, etc.) including but not limited to assessments, observations, inspections, and recommendations.
Communicates effectively with Leads, OPEX Leaders, Production Leaders, Reliability Leader, Engineering and other colleagues.
Supports plant production needs and priorities to achieve plant goals.
Facilitate, attend and participate in team meetings and programs.
Assist, train, and coach employees.
Comply with all regulations, policies and procedures.

High school diploma or equivalent
Electrical/Mechanical background necessary
Apprenticeship program or technical background preferred
Above average computer skills including MS Word & MS Excel
3-5 years of experience with computerized CMMS work order system preferred
Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Procedures
Work with vendors to insure price and availability for maintenance operations
Proactively communicate with maintenance, operations and Plant Management in a cooperative and respectful manner to foster a collaborative and positive work environment
Support of Management Objectives and Policies
Willing and available to work overtime if requested or needed by the Maintenance Management Staff
Work willingly with co-workers and the management team to achieve department and company goals
Support co-workers and management in carrying out daily maintenance responsibilities
Multi-craft/multi-skilled with expertise in electrical, electrical controls, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics and fabrication
Working and practical knowledge of plant utility systems, (including boiler systems, compressed air systems, water filtration, waste water treatment) and Refrigeration systems.
Working knowledge of PLC’s, VFD’s, Servo’s and plant automation systems
Working knowledge of National, State, Local building codes, OSHA and standard industry safety rules/regulations
Previous experience with industrial controls using Allen Bradley control platforms, Motor Controls (Servo and VFD) a plus
