Allied Reliability, an industry leader in asset management, is in the market for traveling maintenance technicians. To be eligible, candidates should be prepared to travel based on client’s needs and work assigned shifts, including, but not limited to first, second, or third, with overtime being assigned as needed. Per-diem may be available, depending upon candidate’s location.


Ideal candidates should be able to speak to their experience with the following:

  • One must have performed work as a mechanic (food and beverage and high-speed manufacturing preferred), have comparable experience and/or demonstrated abilities.
  • One must possess the ability and willingness to learn and practice new skills at an accelerated pace.
  • Reports to a maintenance supervisor and interacts with all hourly and salaried maintenance and production personnel.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of maintenance principles and practices and have the interpersonal and technical skills necessary to repair mechanical, electrical and instrumentation problems in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must be able to react to machinery breakdowns and equipment problems in a proficient and positive manner.
  • Position’s greatest challenge is to assist in improving overall efficiencies through effective mechanical, electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting and repair.
  • Position holder must have the ability to effectively communicate with project engineers to ensure that all projects meet technical objectives.
  • Position holder must possess a positive attitude and be self-motivated.  He/she must be willing to work in all facets of the mechanical arena and some facets of the electrical and instrumentation arenas so as to upgrade his/her overall skill base.
  • Quick and accurate troubleshooting abilities in major packaging equipment problems.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance on package equipment.
  • Work with the packaging maintenance supervisors in developing and implementing new ideas that will help drive improved productivity. 
  • Ensure that all spare parts stocking levels are adequate to fully support all packaging equipment.
  • Perform regular reviews of machine performance, identifying problems and concerns and recommending and/or implementing technological changes to improve overall performance.
  • Actively participate in an aggressive self-development training program that will be designed to dramatically increase one’s technical proficiencies.




In order to be considered for a traveling position, you must have the following:

  • The individual must exemplify the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Position requires good verbal and written communication skills, algebraic and geometric math skills and a thorough understanding of mechanical procedures as related to maintenance applications including but not limited to: Welding, Mechanical Power Transmission, Electrical Power Distribution, Electrical Control Systems, Basic Electronic Principles, Hydraulic Controls and Power Distribution, Pneumatic Controls and Power Distribution
  • At least 2 years in a food and beverage or high automated facility
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening
  • Knowledge of key mechanical and electrical functions
  • Agree to a shift that requires standing at least 8 hours at a time
  • Must perform general production duties in a food and manufacturing environment following strict safety and product quality standards.
  • Must handle Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
