Overview

Allied Reliability is looking for Industrial Maintenance Technicians in the Harrisburg area. The Maintenance Technician will perform all required operations to install, maintain, diagnose problems, and make necessary repairs to machines and equipment to ensure efficient operating conditions. 

Responsibilities

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Test and repair equipment, then adjust, replace, or repair, damaged electrical mechanisms/parts, reassemble and test machine again.
  • Run machine through operation to ensure proper operation to production requirements and specifications.
  • Move and install motors and electrical control equipment and systems.
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Work with and assist other maintenance mechanics as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties.
  • Perform general buildings and grounds maintenance as required.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Follow established company rules and regulations and safety precautions
  • Understand, maintain, and perform work according to quality and environmental standards.
  • Operate a forklift
  • Operate a Man lift and be able to work in elevated situations for long periods of time.
  • Lead and execute projects/maintenance activities.
  • Safely operate and Maintain all Maintenance Tools and Equipment.
  • Additional Skills/Tasks may be added to meet the business need.

Repair and Maintain the following Systems:

  • Industrial controls
  • Monorail and bridge cranes
  • Motors and control systems
  • PLC repair and trouble shooting
  • Facilities repairs (plumbing, roofing, grounds, driveways, outfalls, etc.

 

Communications:

  • Complete Maintenance Inspection Logs and PM Records.
  • Complete end of shift report
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Facilitate communication with and through other departments

Project Management:

  • Lead and execute projects/maintenance activities. This person may be responsible for planning, laying-out, and performing various difficult and unusual trade duties in order to install, analyze, troubleshoot, repair, modify and maintain complex machines.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED. Comfortable troubleshooting electrical and equipment problems.
  • Ability to read and follow equipment manufacturer’s manuals.
  • Ability to spot problems or potential problems and take initiative to correct them.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Verbal communication skills. Basic report writing skills

Job Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2-years experience in electrical maintenance, working within continuous process production systems.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with 3 phase motor, compressor and hoist/crane maintenance experience.
  • Successful candidates will be tested and interviewed for: Electrical, Mechanical, and numerical aptitude; communication skills.
  • Electrical skills including reading blueprints, schematics, drawings and using a multi-meter.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic understanding and skills.
  • The ability to use shop tools such as the drill press, grinder and threading machine, and be able to do basic welding.
  • Solid trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work shift work including nights, weekends or holidays, based on demand and a 12-hour shift schedule.
  • Outdoor environment may be subjected to extreme temperature, wetness and / or humidity.
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Required education:

  • High school or equivalent.

Required experience:

  • Mechanic / Industrial Electricity and controls: 2 years

Preferred experience:

Overhead carne experience preferred
