Overview

Located in Hutchins, TX!

 

Skilled worker with a thorough knowledge of procedures and processes associated with production, storage, and distribution functions in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will be responsible for preparing packaging, machinery and other tasks required for the overall packaging operations.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work according to the assigned work schedule following supervisor instructions.
  • Handle packaging machine startup and shut down duties at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Make-certain that the packaging machine is in good condition and report to supervisor if issues are identified.
  • Stock and sort product for packaging or filling machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies, such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels.
  • Responsible for packaging integrity and quality checks on each packaging order.
  • Monitor correct product orders such as weights and customer to ensure that they are maintained throughout the shift.
  • Handle / discard waste that packaging machineries edict in a safe manner.
  • Isolate damaged product following designated damage procedures.
  • Follow the companies' safety and quality instructions to avoid accidents and prevent injuries.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area by ensuring that floors are clean and organized.

  • Reset machines following malfunctions or need for repeated cycles.
  • Sort, label, grade and inspect packaged products following quality procedures.
  • Stack packaged items in storage areas or on delivery pallets using forklifts.

Properly fill out daily documentation regarding customer orders, shift activity and product handling activities.

Qualifications

§ 

 Wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and follow all Safety Procedures outlined by OSHA.
 Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
 Ability to perform all basic calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
 Solve practical problems, interpret instructions, and deal with a variety of variables.
 Able to work in a fast-paced moderate environment, and various temperatures to complete warehouse tasks. Ability to work in an environment that includes dust and other debris to receive, store, and ship materials, supplies, and/or other equipment.
 Ability to perform physical activities that require lifting, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. to move materials, supplies and/or equipment.
 Ability to stand and perform work duties for an extended period.
 Ability to handle up to 85 decibels of noise per 8-hour shifts due to heavy machinery and rolling equipment, all according to OSHA permissible exposure limit.
 Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
 Work other than normal scheduled hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays according to the needs of the business.
