The maintenance technician will be involved in one or more craft specialties; train and provide work direction and guidance while performing work in one or more of the skilled trades.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the plant.
Responsible for responding to all unplanned downtime or breakdowns on machines.
Plan and execute maintenance activities for non-routine problems or issues.
Carry out diverse skilled activities involving the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
Fabricate, construct, and repair using materials such as metal and wood structures.
Assist management in scheduling work and determining needs for equipment and supplies.
Report to management regarding work completed and referring unusual technical or personnel issues to management.
Perform a variety of skilled work in the maintenance and repair of equipment; prioritize, schedule, assign and coordinate the work of assigned staff to accomplish a wide variety of duties related manufacturing.
Assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, State and local codes, regulations and requirements.
Operate a variety of equipment and machines including saws, drills presses and various hand and power tools to perform repair and maintenance work.
Ensure that tools and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean, and proper working condition.
Estimate cost of labor and materials for work orders.
Perform skilled maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment.
Perform a wide variety of complex skilled tasks to assist in the daily repair, preventative maintenance and construction of physical plant and expansion projects, including carpentry, masonry, electrical, heating/air-conditioning, plumbing, painting, mechanical and floor/wall coating installation.
May perform specialized electrical, plumbing inspection and maintenance tasks.
Examine machinery and equipment to diagnose trouble using basic mechanical tools and equipment.
Disassemble machines and equipment and adjust, replace or repair broken or defective parts and pieces.
Inspect completed mechanical repairs for quality, safety, and proper operation.
Perform equipment calibration and preventative maintenance procedures as directed.
Participate in snow removal and ice remediation activities such as shoveling, plowing and spreading de-icing agents on walkways and parking lots, where site weather conditions necessitate.
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to interpret sketches, blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
2 Years of post-secondary schooling in an industrial maintenance related field, Associates Degree Preferred or at least 4 years’ experience leading a team of skilled trade maintenance technicians.
3 Years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or 5-7 years in industrial maintenance as a multi-skill technician.
Experience troubleshooting motors, drives, electrical circuits, hydraulic systems, power transmission, and robotics.
Must have the ability to read and understand ladder logic, electrical, and mechanical diagrams.
