Maintenance Tech Electrician

Allied Reliability is currently looking for a Maintenance Tech Electrician to work in the Edgewood, MD area.  The Maintenance Tech Electrician will install and repairs electrical systems, i.e. AC motors drives, programmable controllers, various process related electrical and electronic controls.  Must be familiar with 480 volt 3 phase power distribution and AC/DC circuits.

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment as a part of general maintenance
• Listens for unusual sounds for machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operations with supervisors or other maintenance works in diagnosing and repairing machine
• Must be able to troubleshoot production machines. Retro fitting machines as needed
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
• Troubleshoots, repairs and programs all types of control circuitry from relay logic to programmable logic
• Must have common troubleshooting ability without the use of schematic diagrams
• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain conduit systems and related electrical equipment
• Install, repair, and/or replace control circuitry up to 480 volts
• Install, repair and/or replace different manufactures and types of variable frequency drives
• Troubleshoot electrical components from basic receptacle wiring to intricate control circuitry to include:  transformers, limit switches, hoists, variable frequency drives, controllers, relays, sensors and all other associated electrical equipment
• Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
