Maintenance Planner
Scope:
The primary role of the maintenance planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by eliminating in advance potential delays and obstacles through proper planning and coordination of parts, machine time and resources.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plans and schedules preventive/predictive maintenance work in coordination with production supervisors and area Advanced Maintenance Specialist according to established priority systems.
- Reviews each work request to see that it has been submitted according to established guidelines.
- Ensures the safety needs are given a top priority in work planning.
- Estimates jobs showing sequence of steps, number of resources and hours required for each step. Verifies the availability of parts, materials and special tools required for work execution.
- Estimates the cost of each work order in terms of labor, materials required and total cost.
- Coordination of available resources while managing department backlog
- Ensures timely and coordinated availability of facilities and equipment to be worked on, parts, materials, and special tools/equipment for orderly and efficient work execution. Provides all documentation needed to perform work
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System tool for tracking and recording of maintenance work and reporting purposes. Provides monthly and weekly reports as needed.
- Maintains a close working relationship with Operations, Stores, Engineering, other Planners, Maintenance Leaders/Supervisors, Maintenance Technicians and general plant personnel.
- Suggests improvements to storeroom operations, organization, etc.
- Assists with maintenance tasks within their scope of ability
- Recommends changes for the preventative/predictive programs.
- Obtains blueprints, drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed from files or other sources.
- Makes any additional sketches diagrams, etc., necessary to clarify the intent of the work request.
- Follows up on work performed and provides feedback to originators.
- Directs contractor as necessary.
- Participates in safety and housekeeping programs
- Maintains records of mechanics work and vacation schedules. This is required for planning purposes.

The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the safety, reliability, cost, quality, productivity, and employee engagement in a goal-oriented environment. The position is responsible for the operations of the Solvay Mill and reports to the General Manager.
This role is responsible for providing condition monitoring services to Allied’s clients as directed by management. Analysts assist in coordinating activities and preparing the necessary technical reports. They are also expected to be a technical resource to the customer and employees in the troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment. Analysts are normally assigned an area of plant/site for collection, analysis, and reporting of technical data.

To provide the technical know-how necessary to operate LSB Industries, Inc.’s ammonia and upgrade operations with the most efficient use of raw materials and services; meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards; to develop and implement process improvements including safety and process control systems; and to develop and implement programs to ensure operators have the appropriate skills to perform their tasks safely and effectively.
Responsibilities & Duties:

Collaborate with operators and maintenance personnel to influence the activities of workers who operate and control such equipment as condensers, absorption and evaporation towers, pumps, valves, tanks, boilers, compressors, piping, etc. to effect required chemical or physical change.

Additional consideration will be given to Prefer direct engineering experience in an ammonia, urea, and or ammonium nitrate plant.

Preference given to an engineer who has experience in a PSM regulated process and experiences with control engineering.

Provides asset maintenance, reliability, and outage scope guidance and are in charge of overall area asset care. The Reliability (ACE) Engineer is the liaison between production and maintenance, engineering and third-party subject matter experts for plant reliability and increasing equipment availability and asset capacity utilization (or OEE). Lead Engineer within the Operations/Production Department and provides organization, planning, and direction for maintenance, reliability, production/capital improvements, and technical documentation for the assigned areas.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Ensures the principles of Asset Care Excellence (ACE), including the technical means for safe operation and compliance programs, are applied to all aspects of the work, as detailed below.

Ensures/supports that adequate process related equipment maintenance systems and programs are in place and that such programs are operated in a safe and efficient manner and meet or exceed all regulatory requirements.

Carriesout pareto analyses of maintenance costs and/or repair frequencies and use existing analyses of OEE losses to identify bad actors and develop measures to improve or replace the assets.

Leads or takes part in cross-functional teams, e.g. Reliability Centered Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis and Six Sigma Teams, Investigations, or Equipment Improvement Teams.

Prepares and submits to the Area Operations Manager monthly reports summarizing the status of major maintenance and reliability activities and their on-going capital projects.

Leads the Capital project input and budgeting process for his/her area of responsibility.

Executes maintenance work orders – assuring work order quality metrics are met as well as assuring operators are entering work orders in JDE for all non-optimal issues in the plant. Set the weekly/daily maintenance scheduling priorities. Work to drive down emergency work orders and call outs.

Leads and coordinates Root Cause Analysis investigations for all bad actors and significant reliability incidents. Assign RCA leaders and resources. Responsibility for follow up – assignment and tracking of corrective actions.

Manages all areas of mechanical equipment related maintenance not being covered by the Mechanical Integrity program, including on-plant, workshop, inventory, clerical, and planning activities as well as maintaining/improving the necessary documentation (e.g. specifications, equipment documentation).

Co-ordinates plant changes, both equipment and facilities, which require engineering input, which are requested by Maintenance or Production, or other departments acting within LSB Industries.Co-ordinate plant changes, both equipment and process, which improve plant OEE, yields, equipment, reliability, process quality.

Improves/develops a reliability strategy based on the business needs, e.g. (ACE), to make sure that maintenance, Turnaround and Capital spending is mainly focused on the most relevant equipment and moving towards a proactive approach. This includes identification of the critical spare equipment/spare parts and determination of their inventory parameters, enhancement of the Preventive Maintenance program, e.g. condition-based, as well as development of a plan for asset preservation and rationalization projects in the assigned areas.

The incumbent uses theoretical technical knowledge combined with analytical thinking and process experience to solve process, maintenance, and technical project problems.

Bachelor’s degree or higher from a 4-year ABET accredited engineering program and a minimum of 3-5 years' experience within the Chemical/Process or Petrochemical Industry are required.

The incumbent should have experience developing solid working relationships with production personnel and must be willing to teach and mentor production and maintenance personnel. Furthermore, a basic knowledge of accounting principles is required.

The Controls Technician will:
Provide and coordinate production reliability improvement efforts and equipment troubleshooting support as
needed with the production, maintenance, and engineering teams (become that first line of support for
advanced troubleshooting activities)
Coordinate facility, trade and OEM-service contractors, certifying that work requested is performed as
expected while conforming to PAD safety standards. Become one of the in-house experts on both the facility
and our production operations
Serve as the gatekeeper of all control and electrical drawings and primary electrical/controls resource.
Maintain all PLC/HMI programs for compounding, packaging and building systems, edit and write PLC
programs, create/modify HMI screens, and perform basic electrical troubleshooting and functional
modifications.
Collaborate on team projects to problem-solve and improve processes and procedures that improve OEE,
safety, quality and work environment
Focus on equipment reliability and seek out opportunities to drive manufacturing capacity and capabilities
within the factory
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with automation and controls, with at least 2 years of experience working in
a consumer-packaged goods or related industry manufacturing + production environment
Demonstrated, independent execution of electrical or automation projects
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to create, modify and troubleshoot complex PLC programs and HMI programs and read electrical
schematics
Proven, working knowledge of Rockwell Automation PLC and HMI programming software
Working knowledge of high-speed packaging equipment and have some experience with mechanical /
pneumatical functions and operations
