Overview

Take leadership role in developing plans for a multi-craft planning position with emphasis on mechanical construction.  Leader will also audit multi-craft plans completed by others to ensure accuracy.  Plans are to include detailed resource loaded task list, HSSE Plans and bill of materials.

Responsibilities

  • Job location will be in turnaround and / or campaign maintenance planning – PMs and CMs
  • Using company provided NORMs, develop detailed task and material lists in job plans (built in SAP) for replacing valves, isolating vessels
  • Job plans to be used in P6 scheduling software and must be built in SAP in such way to easily migrate data
  • Assemble and maintain scope lists and be able to facilitate scope list meetings
  • Formulate time estimates
  • Formulate material estimates
  • Visit offshore facility to ensure understanding of work requirements and barriers to job success
  • Link activities within individual jobs to facilitate scheduling in Primavera P-6 system
  • Update job progress reports
  • Meet and exceed turnaround milestones
  • While not working on active turnaround, will work on backlog work orders for Turnarounds
  • While not working on active turnaround, audit quality of old work packages and convert to SAP format (activities, bill of materials) for long term future use
  • In auditor role, able to provide objective review of job plans completed by others to ensure job plans are using company Estimating NORMs correctly
  • Interface with turnaround schedulers

 

Qualifications

  • Familiar with use of construction NORMs use and crew sizing for job planning
  • Familiar with using SAP for assembling Bill of Materials
  • Familiar with using SAP for building “operations” job task list with crew sizes and duration
  • A degree in Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or related field; OR a minimum of 5 years' experience in construction management, industrial technology, planning, or a related field in an industrial setting.
  • Troubleshooting Ability - Ability to recognize an issue and take correct resolution, when required.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision. Required to diagnose and resolve barriers to job progress that arise with little outside support.
  • Strong time management / organizational skills
  • Basic Microsoft computer skills – communication through e-mail, word documents, and spreadsheets
  • Willing and able to work overtime

  • Ability to effectively multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to effectively work with spreadsheets and create graphs/charts to communicate job progression and management
  • Proficiency with standard software packages including: MS Word, MS Excel, SAP, and Primavera P6 (or related planning and scheduling program)
  • Knowledge of maintenance and turnaround planning principles and techniques
  • Familiarity with maintenance and turnaround system requirements
  • Knowledge of scheduling, estimating, and cost control principles/techniques
  • Understanding of resource planning and resource allocation techniques
  • Understanding of various contract types and strategies
  • Ability to read blueprints and process/instrument drawings
  • Ability to read and understand material specifications for valves, flanges, pipe, studs, nuts, gaskets, cable
