  • Overview

    To ensure that the Environmental Systems are operated safely and efficiently to meet permit compliance and support facility operations.


    • Daily management of environmental processes to ensure all permit requirements are met and maintained on a consistent basis.
    • Analyze data on a daily basis to assist in determining necessary changes within environmental systems to drive performance and achieve compliance.
    • Ability to identify and assist with analytical quality issues, as well as instrumentation and maintenance issues.
    • Daily management and organization of environmental calendar to ensure all items are met and planned for accordingly.
    • Assist in conducting facility-wide environmental training to all associates on various required topics, as well as environmental associate specific training.
    • Management of modules in company-wide reporting program to include compliance, safety, metrics reporting, and environmental audit response.
    • Establish and maintain procedures to assist in environmental compliance and maintain procedures per ISO standards.
    • Maintaining environmental tracking system to ensure all items are met and completed in a timely manner.
    • Coordination with local state agencies and non-profit community organizations.
    • Participate in corporate internal audits and regulatory audits, as well as respond to corrective actions accordingly.
    • Perform Daily Team Management duties to promote employee engagement and to achieve desired results.
    • Investigate and identify root causes related to safety and environmental incidents to find and implement corrective actions.
    • Management and review of permit required monitoring reports.
    • Manage work order system to ensure all items entered are corrected in a timely manner.
    • Effectively manage a team of 5-7 direct reports.
    • Align environmental and sustainability strategies of the company to achieve goals and maintain compliance.
    • Identify and execute environmental-related projects to assist in plant performance and compliance.
    • Work closely with production to identify process and/or schedule changes and how those changes can impact environmental performance.   
    • Work in conjunction with contractors and consultants on projects related to the environmental systems.
    • Attend environmental training and corporate environmental meetings as necessary.



    • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or environmental sciences related degree
    • Track record of working in a team environment
    • Ability to work as a team and effectively communicate with operators, location management, and senior leadership
    • Ability to read and interpret test results and to take corrective action based upon findings  
    • Good verbal and communication skills. Good written and presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, specifically related to NPDES and Title V permitting
    • Capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently
    • Promote and continuously develop the company safety and environmental culture to achieve an accident free workplace and compliance
