  • Overview

    Responsible for ongoing coordination and support of the Ironmaking mechanical and/or electrical maintenance functions.


    Safety incident investigations and corrective actions
    Meet all prescribed personal annual Safety Metrics
    Ensure that all direct reports are meeting all safety metrics
    Verifies required employee Safety Training
    Support the development of all safety procedures 
    Safety Inspections and housekeeping audit program
    Ensure, monitor all Safety Contacts are delivered within predetermined timing 
    Ensure, monitor all Fall Protection and Lifting type devices are within inspection dates
    Ensure, monitor that all SJP’s ECP’s and SMP’s are within review tolerances
    Ensure, monitor Facility Housekeeping is world class as it applies to maintenance 
    Ensure compliance

    Reviews individual quality events and issues 
    Implements corrective action and eliminate root cause 
    Daily review of the quality that is coming off the line, react accordingly
    Supports operations to meet tons per turn objectives
    Coordinate repair turns and outages 
    Assists in resolving production/ maintenance issues 
    Review performance and corrective action for; 
    Delay, yield, spending, labor, energy and quality
    Coordinates Preventative Maintenance Program
    Coordinates and prioritizes maintenance Work Orders 
    Work with RCM on scheduling facility outages work in coordination with 
    Business Planning and RCM.
    Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement efforts
    Coordinate the overall work flow with the RCM group
    Management Performance Appraisals
    Mentor and give direction to Managers and MA’s
    Coordinates work activities of contractors 
    Employee work and vacation schedules 
    Assist in grievance procedure and employee discipline
    Assist Shift Mangers in extended delay or unusual delays.
    Fill in for Shift Managers during absences or around the clock coverage events


    Bachelor’s or Associates degree in mechanical, or related technology field
    6 to 8 years working in Plant Maintenance
    Proven experience managing Maintenance Managers
    Supervision and management of a unionized workforce
