This position is a hands-on role in support of the technician front line maintenance role. The Engineering Maintenance Planner will be responsible for all activities associated with the continued provision of a Shift Activity plan for each shift, to enable the efficient use of technician time.
The Engineering Maintenance Planner will be responsible for ensuring all available capacity of Technician time is planned to be utilised. While the emphasis will be on execution of the Preventive Maintenance program and Planned Corrective Maintenance, time also needs to be allowed for Training and other indirect activities.
He/she will, when directed, plan and schedule all maintenance routines or oversee the completion of maintenance routines by third party suppliers. The Engineering Maintenance Planner will comply with all site policies and procedures. He/she will integrate with his/her team members within both the engineering and manufacturing organizations. He/she will work with production/operations to organise preventive or planned maintenance on all the manufacturing equipment including vessels, washing and sterilizing equipment, automated production filling and liquid handling equipment, and inspection equipment.
He/She will be able to develop and operate a Planned Maintenance Management System in a cGMP environment and Work and direct, where necessary, a multi-skilled maintenance team of and/or contract personnel to execute maintenance, investigate faults/failures, remedy plant issues, maximise plant availability. He/She will apply continuous improvements to their work and efficiency.
He/She will work in a self-directed team environment.
Review PM spare parts forecast from MRO, feedback any adjustments needed and provide go ahead to order spares in advance.
Maintain systems and records in compliance. Ensure approved extensions in place before month end for any overdue work orders. Flag early any issues/concerns that might lead to non-compliance.
Maintenance Projects and Shutdown
Develop work scope, schedule and resource plan in time for successful execution. Ensure spare parts ordered in time. Ensure Shift Engineers aligned with the plan and escalate any issues early for resolution. Issue post work summary report with action plan to address feedback from Shift Engineers and Technicians.
Issue monthly PM overdue list with Schedule Deviations signed off by QA and Ops leads. The goal is zero overdue PM except where completion is clearly outside planning control.
Ensure work is planned to maximise technician utilization and minimize contract support costs. Work with Shift Engineers to identify options to complete planned and non-routine work with in-house resources where possible, using contract support where necessary.
Ensure PO's in place before instructions issued to vendors and contractors.
Contribute to Engineering cost reduction initiatives (repairs, maintenance and spares). Identify, lead and deliver cost reduction projects.
Provide a shift handover summary by email to flag any issues requiring follow up by the Planner/Shift Engineer.
Under consideration - upload PM and CM jobs to Orchestrate in co-operation with Operations Planners. Also execution resources/capabilities agreed in advance with Shift Engineers.
Identify spare parts supply issues from EAMS / Passdown / technician feedback and action or add to action log. Review repairable spares tracker and flag any delays in decision making / turnaround time. Schedule and track in-house repairs.
PM Process Improvement
Identify MTL issues from EAMS / Passdown / Technician feedback and action or add to action log. Includes PM tasks, Spares lists, resource requirements and duration estimates.
Work with Reliability Engineer and Shift Engineers to help optimise the effectiveness of the PDM program.
Make a contribution to building up the knowledge and capability of the wider team by publishing information and aids for effective work execution in public directories.
Demonstrate ability to problem solve using Method 1 approach (DMAIC) and method 1 tools (Fishbone / Pareto / 5 Why's).
Safety and Compliance
Take ownership for known safety issues. Raise one Proactive good save per Quarter. Ensure COHE lockout plans are corrected based on feedback from shift teams. Provide job specific COHE lockout plans as required for CM jobs. Timekeeping and Attendance: 100%. Complete Mandatory training on time. ITP Greater than 90% at all times. No overdue required training.
Work with the other planner to maintain the backlog file showing PM for the month and CM ready for execution.
