  • Overview

    Allied Reliability Group is currently seeking a Staff Accountant for a large company in Houston, TX!

    Responsibilities

    • Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts.
    • Prepare and record journal entries for month-end close activities including adjusting
      entries, recurring entries and expense accruals.
    • Assist in the preparation of sales and use tax reports.
    • Responsible for daily cash position reporting.
    • Prepare external audit schedules as requested.
    • Perform special account analyses and participates in special projects as directed by management.
    • Assist in month-end and year-end closing.
    • Keep control of fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
    • Acts as a back up for other accounting areas.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
    • 2 - 3 years of progressive accounting experience including knowledge of US GAAP in a large corporation.
    • Proficient in payables, receivables and general ledger.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, intermediate level in Excel and knowledge of pivot tables.
    • Experience using a mid to large size ERP system.
    • Able to adapt to change, work in a fast paced environment and be a team player.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
    • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and present a valid conclusion.
    • Overtime required, especially during the closing of the month and year end.
    • Must live in Houston area.

    Preference will be given to those candidates who also meet the following requirements:

    • Experience using software Prophet 21
    • Experience in distribution business
