  • Overview

    Senior-level engineer applying engineering knowledge and skills for large, complex, long duration engineering projects focused on developing, measuring, analyzing, and implementing plans and procedures which ensure reliability of manufacturing components, equipment, and processes.



    • Manage and prioritize projects or programs of large size, scope, and duration
    • Lead and coordinate project work with other engineers, technicians, designers and/or or drafters
    • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a life cycle asset management process for components, equipment, and processes at all facilities
    • Troubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate, propose, implement, and document maintenance plans and performance metrics; failure, analysis, and corrective action procedures; equipment capacities and risks; and other engineering solutions
    • Lead the development and implementation of preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance plans
    • Lead investigation of root-cause for repetitive damage and failure rates, and calculate costs that do not meet or follow the maintenance plans
    • Lead change in equipment risk management and reliability processes
    • Develop and implement analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes
    • Oversee the review and analysis of engineering designs, and determine if proposed design modifications will achieve reliability and efficiency
    • Evaluate, recommend, and acquire tools for use, including process analysis software, and other physical tools and resources specific to reliability and maintenance improvement
    • Identify broad conceptual ideas and develop them into useful solutions
    • Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products
    • Create test parameters and participate in the testing and implementation of engineering solutions
    • Establish continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved
    • Mentor lower level engineers



    • May lead and direct the work of others



    • Requires one of the following:
      • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and six (6) years of related engineering experience, OR
      • Associate’s degree and twelve (12) years of related engineering experience
    • Experience developing and implementing Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs
    • Experience applying Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Experience working with plastics extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding, paper printing and/or paper converting processes
    • Advanced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products
    • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
    • Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
    • Advanced knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
    • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
    • Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments
    • Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information
    • Certification in 6-Sigma Black Belt or Lean Master in manufacturing, preferred
    • Maintenance Reliability Professional Certification (CMRP), preferred
    • Certifications in Predictive Maintenance Technologies, preferred
    • Experience using Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree, preferred


    • Work is split between an office environment, production facility, and/or warehouse depending on the project
    • Up to 40% domestic and international travel with periods of travel up to 75%
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
    • Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
