Overview

A global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Test Technician in Fort Mill, SC. This position is intended to support the various product development groups with Design Verification and Production Validation testing in the Automotive Technical Center (ATC) Testing Laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • The ability to perform testing to procedures and/or work instructions
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical problems on bearing testing equipment
  • Assemble, disassemble or modify various test fixtures
  • Perform pre/post test sample preparation and documentation as required
  • Assist engineer in test execution
  • Responsible for following correct procedures for permanent storage of test samples, fixtures, and equipment
  • Perform routine/preventative maintenance on equipment per maintenance schedule
  • Plan, estimate, and schedule all assigned work requests
  • Conduct work requests within time constraints
  • Complete purchase requests for required test supplies
  • Maintain the Intranet Request database
  • Track all work hours against approved work requests
  • Maintain Laboratory orderliness and cleanliness
  • Wear all PPE as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of and Associate in Science or 5+ years working in a mechanical test lab with automated equipment
  • Machine Shop experience preferred
  • Good mechanical understanding
  • Understanding and ability to interpret technical drawings with GD&T
  • Proficient computer skills using email, word processing and spreadsheets
  • Ability to follow oral or written directions
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Basic transducer and signal conditioning experience
  • Moderate physical effort consisting of occasional lifting or moving heavy weight material
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and work above and under test stands
