Works with Senior Principal Engineer of Technical Services (Energy & Wastewater), company Procurement, Supply Chain Engineering, Operations, and preferred steam specialties, compressed air and utility equipment vendors to develop strategies to reduce cost, maximize equipment performance, ensure preservation of the company's capital equipment.
Develops and drives programs focused on improving utility system capacity, capability, sustainability, and control while generally reducing total delivered costs.
Keeps current with the latest utility and energy technology and commercial applications, and communicates opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.
Keeps current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to utility equipment system design and operation and includes
Provides technical feasibility of applications to other groups within the Company that are focused on improvements to the current state and developing competitive advantages against the company's peer set.
Works with platform engineering leadership to develop annual and 3 year capital plans by recommending energy/utility system improvements and solutions that are proven in both concept and performance.
Develops Front-End-Loading packages (FEL’s) or Tech Briefs that are complete, clear, concise, and reflect appropriate due diligence to ensure project success. FEL packages include, but are not limited to:
Reviews submitted FEL-1 or Tech Brief packages that are developed by third party engineering partners for accuracy, completeness, and operational effectiveness.
Participates in design reviews to ensure the proper implementation of utility technical solutions through the execution phase.
A BS or MS degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Practical experience of 3 to 5 years in the design and operation of plant utility systems that may include applications such as steam and condensate systems, compressed air systems, HVAC, and Wastewater treatment.
Excellent and successfully demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, collaboration techniques, influential leadership qualities, verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively work independently as well as in teams, and ability to effectively work across all levels of a matrix organization.
Proven success in thermal recovery or reducing energy consumption from utility and process systems are also preferred.
