We are currently seeking a Plant Manager for a position located in Prosperity, SC.

The Plant Manager will be responsible for P&L of plywood manufacturing facility, three major production departments, product finishing and shipping. Restructure team to optimize the performance and reliable operation of the production and finishing departments. Accountable for overall safety, environmental, quality, production, shipping, inventory and cost management with 16 direct reports 3 dotted line capabilities, and up to 500 hourly employees.


  • Responsible for the overall operation of the facility, from receipt of raw materials to the shipment of finished lumber to market. 
  • Ensure a consistently high level of performance in the areas of managing workplace safety and environmental compliance. 
  • Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement in process reliability, product quality, operating cost and asset readiness, and will be responsible for ensuring the facility meets company expectations for production scheduling, inventory control, operating rate, fiber recovery, and facility financial performance. 
  • Select and develop a team of Principled Entrepreneurs who will work together to create long-term value while effectively eliminating waste. 
  • Ensure the facility complies with all applicable company policies, and state, federal and local laws. 
  • Maintain a productive working relationship with peers in the various support capabilities such as procurement, sales, accounting, HR, etc.


  • A Bachelor's Degree required.  A Master of Science Degree or MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a production or reliability manager, plant superintendent, or in an equivalent role required. Plant Manager experience preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience with manufacturing processes, which includes work processes, operations excellence, maintenance/reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading and managing direct reports, including recognition of talent gaps, coaching, performance feedback, and incentives.
  • An intermediate or higher level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel; can analysis data and develop improvement strategies from trends.
  • Must possess the virtues and talent necessary to lead a world class safety culture.
  • Must possess strong economic and critical thinking skills, along with high sense of urgency, discipline, accountability, judgment, and initiative to achieve long-term value creation.
  • Must possess strong strategic planning skills.
  • Must be able to lead and implement a visionary fiveyear business improvement plan.
